About Us
The most rewarding experience that we have as artist-teachers and performers is to observe the steady musical growth of each one of our students. Success in music is within the grasp of every individual. Our mission is to provide the guidance, knowledge, and tools necessary to achieve that success.
"The Chopin Academy is unique on the West Coast with its program for young students similar to preparatory programs at major musical institutions, such as the Peabody School of Music and Juilliard. In short, they are the Juilliard of the West Coast."
--Dr. Tony Cho, faculty, Juilliard School of Music
What distinguishes us from every other school or teacher is that we have the education, skills, and determination to see that achievement becomes a reality for all our students. We also emphasize a pragmatic and positive learning environment in which our students can best develop technically, artistically, and with confidence. Despite recent psychology and pedagogical research, there are far too many negative-reinforcing teaching methods and attitudes to music learning that promote discouragement and failure. Only a nourishing and stress-free learning environment can lead to freedom of expression and injury-free technique.
"The extraordinary results demonstrated in their students' performances during public master classes that I taught in Washington State attest to the exceptional level of their teaching. In addition, the faculty are exceptional concert artists who are an infinite inspiration to their students and peers."
--Dr. Henri-Paul Sicsic, Professor of Music at the University of Toronto
"The faculty share their consummate artistry with students at the Chopin Academy of Music, which is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the finest such schools in the country."
--Dr. Mark Clinton, Professor of Music at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln

We know that your experience at the Chopin Academy of Music in Issaquah will reward you and your family and friends with a lifelong relationship with music. We look forward to working with you!
