Private Lessons

Private lessons are one-on-one sessions between the student and teacher. It is the most traditional way for students to learn how to play an instrument and learn the skills they will practice daily at home. Students at the Chopin Academy of Music may select one of our faculty members with which to study. The teacher takes a personal interest and plans individually the approach toward guiding the student through learning. He or she assigns the material for weekly practice, introduces the material during lessons, and monitors the student’s technique to ensure that proper development to posture, position, physical freedom, and other fundamental aspects are followed.

Daily practice from lesson to lesson (which are usually weekly lessons) is crucial in order to make forward progress. For those registered in the Artist Training pro gram, two lessons per week are required along with a group activity. For either General or Exam Track program students, only one lesson per week is required. Students may take private lessons in durations of 30, 45, or 60 minutes.
