General recitals are open to all students of the CAM as long as the performer has been cleared by his or her primary instructor to play. Acceptance is on a first-come, first-served basis. Although more than one piece may be performed, due to time constraints, your performance may be limited to one piece only if the demand is high in order to facilitate greater participation. Even if your booking is accepted, after timing has been calculated your participation may be cancelled in the event that the recital time limit has been exceeded.
Furthermore, you may perform only pieces logged onto the student’s profile by their primary instructor under the “Repertoire Tracker” section. Only pieces marked “Memorized” or “Performed” may be included in the recital.
On the form, enter the piece exactly as shown on the “Repertoire Tracker” (use copy/paste function). Enter the timing, rounding up to the nearest value.
Failure to complete these sections may void one’s eligibility to perform on the recital.
Enrollment must be completed no later than 10 days prior to the event in question. A final confirmation will be sent prior to the event.
Participating in recitals requires that all students and families adhere to the policy on recital participation and etiquette:
- Remain at home if a performer or attending family members are sick
- The performer adheres to a minimum dress code: (no sneakers, jeans, sportswear)
- The performer and family commits to attend and remain for the entire duration of the program (do not leave after your performance)
- Remain quiet during the program, silencing electronic devices, and remaining seated during any performance, reserving getting up to use restroom facilities only between performers during applause
- Refrain from recording any performer except one’s own child unless express permission by other families is given
- Remain supportive and enthusiastic to all performers
